ABOUT NU KAPPA EPSILON
Music is an important gift and the sisters of Nu Kappa Epsilon feel that it is important to share it with others. As long as people with a genuine love for music are able to connect, there will always be music in the world, and the world will be a much happier place because of it. As a sisterhood, Nu Kappa Epsilon connects women from diverse backgrounds, both academically and in their personal lives, through a love for music.
NKE was founded in 1994 at the College of William and Mary because the founding sisters felt that there was something missing in the music community. William and Mary needed an organization where women who love music could meet and flourish.
To promote the growth and development of musical activities and appreciation on campus and in the community where chapters have been formed and to develop in the members the best qualities of character through music.
Not Greek: We are not affiliated with the Greek system, so sisters may be a part of a Social Sorority as well.
Philanthropic: We raise funds for Songs for Kids, assist with music classes at Matthew Whaley Elementary School, and donate funds to the
music department for music lesson scholarship. In addition to these regular events, unique opportunities are always found by the Philanthropy chair.
Social: There is always something to do with NKE sisters, from formals, mixers, movie nights, and bowling, to concerts, recitals, and performances.
